             The Needlers

The Needlers is a unique group of Reynolds Ladies Club (RLC) members whose mission echoes the RLC mission.

Its purpose is to provide and encourage friendships among the women of Reynolds Lake Oconee while also supporting a charitable organization like Project Linus. Project Linus is a national organization which seeks to provide a sense of security and comfort to children who are in need through the gift of a new handmade blanket.

The blankets are all handmade – knitted, quilted, crocheted or made of fleece. Our RLC Needlers group is part of the Middle Georgia chapter of Project Linus. We meet informally each week at the Commons/Lending Library building to work on blankets and chat. Last year, despite, the pandemic and being unable to meet in person, we completed over 120 blankets! So you could say behind the scenes we still were busy.

Meetings are every Thursday from 2:00 - 5:00 pm. Come anytime you can between those hours. We are always looking for new friends to join us in our goal to have a wonderful time together AND support making blankets for Project Linus. It is not a formal meeting, just come and go as you please. Bring your own project or work on one for Project Linus.

Don’t know how to knit, crochet, tie fleece blankets or quilt? No problem! We will be happy to teach you. We are also happy to provide the materials for you to make a blanket to donate.

The Needlers also maintain the free Reynolds Lending Library also located in the Commons Building. Weekly volunteers rotate and reshelve the books returned to the library.

If you are interested in becoming a Needler or volunteering at the Lending Library, please contact us for more information:                                                      Kris Rulison     [email protected]     706-817-3505
